Standards and Certifications

Here at the farm, we have high standards with regard to the handling and care of our
animals, as well as to the processing for you, the end consumer.

•        We are certified and have received training by the Maine Beef Quality
Assurance Program.  This program assists producers in training to:  produce safe
and wholesome products for the consumer, provide consistency and a uniform quality
of cattle, improve whole herd health and increase productivity.

•        On-Farm Program to protect and promote the health and well being of our
entire herd right from birth.

•        Our beef cattle meet all the criteria of “Natural Beef”.

•        No fed antibiotics or added growth hormones or implants are ever given to our
animals.  If an animal must be treated with antibiotics for its health and well being, that
animal is taken out of our “Natural Beef” program.

•        High quality, free choice pasture is available to all animals at all times during the
warm season months, fed hay is provided during the cold season.  Corn and molasses
based grain is provided for maintenance and finishing.  Our animals also enjoy the
bounty of apples and pears that grow here on our farm during the summer and fall
months.

•        Our animals are hand raised, kindly and compassionately.  They are free to
roam and feed within the pastures, are provided access to fresh water and clean, dry
bedding at all times.

  • All of our processing is completed at a USDA inspected facility.
